I am FedEx is a new culture program designed to honor FedEx team members around the world and to celebrate their stories of personal and professional achievement. I am FedEx shows the world what makes FedEx different from other companies and gives team members the opportunity to celebrate FedEx by demonstrating their enthusiasm for their job, their company and their community.
How can I/my team participate in I am FedEx?
- Visit IamFedEx.com to view fellow team members. stories and comment on their postings.
- Share your own stories through your manager, or by uploading them directly to the Facebook page or IamFedEx.com.
- Join the I am FedEx Facebook fan page (more information to follow) and become a fan to view photos, videos, blog links, and related content from other team members around the world.
- Nominate fellow team members to be featured in the Poster Gallery, a video, slideshow or podcast.
What is the IamFedEx.com web site? Is it only internal?
The IamFedEx.com web site is a newly created external web site that is outside the FedEx firewall and accessible by non- team members as well. It will serve as a central repository for all things related to I am FedEx. At the site you will be able to read and view the stories of your fellow FedEx team members as well as submit your own stories or comments. There is also a place to nominate team members that you feel embody the I am FedEx spirit every day.
Is I am FedEx a global initiative?
Yes. I am FedEx will celebrate the individual contributions and stories of our team members across all OpCos and geographies.
Will I am FedEx be available in every OpCo?
Yes. I am FedEx will celebrate the individual contributions and stories of our team members across all OpCos and geographies.
Who is qualified to be recognized by the I am FedEx program?
A FedEx team member must be in good standing and must have at least one year of service with the company (OpCos can customize) to be nominated. Although each facility/OpCo/region may modify criteria as appropriate for its specific needs, a nominee should:
- Embody the FedEx culture
- Have earned the trust and respect of his/her peers
- Actively promote team work
- Continually seek to improve his/her performance
- Participate in his/her communities either through a FedEx program or on his/her own
- Compelling hobbies and/or pastimes
How many team member stories will be developed in FY11?
In the first year of I am FedEx, we anticipate building out approximately 150 stories across OpCos and Regions. We will be working directly with representatives for each OpCo/Region to coordinate these efforts.
How long do I have to submit a story idea/video, etc.?
All submissions to the site will be reviewed and evaluated. Any submission that meets the program needs will be included on the IamFedEx.com site. To ensure that we can properly process both user-generated story ideas and manager nominations in Phase 1 of I am FedEx, we will accept materials until July 15 or when we receive the first 3,000 submissions. We intend to reopen the submission process again when possible.
What is the process for submitting I am FedEx nominations?
There are three ways to share your story or one of a team member:
Ask your manager to submit it for you.
Go to or the I am FedEx Facebook fan page and upload a photo/story, story, video, podcast or photo slideshow directly.
Go to IamFedEx.com and suggest a story idea to be produced by the I am FedEx Team as a video, poster, podcast or slideshow.
The Content Administrator will review your submission to see if it meets the program.s needs.
All submissions to the site will be appropriately evaluated.
If submissions meet the program requirements and needs, as determined by the I am FedEx team, they will be included on the IamFedEx.com site.
What happens to the story idea submission I submit on the IamFedEx.com site?
- Once you have submitted a team member story idea for possible development on the IamFedEx.com site, you will receive an automatically generated message to the email address you provided letting you know that we received your submission.
- The I am FedEx Team will review all submissions to ensure they meet the nomination criteria.
- The Team will also review submissions for general story interest and appropriateness.
- If your submission is selected for development, the Team will then decide which media would best tell the story: poster, video, podcast or slideshow.
- Because the number of submissions will vary from week to week, we ask for your patience as we process them. You will be notified within six weeks from the submission date as to whether your story idea will be developed. Or video posted, etc.
Who should I contact if I have questions about the nomination/submission process?
First ask your manager. If you aren.t able to get the answer, then email the I am FedEx Team.
What is the I am FedEx People Gallery?
Displayed in hallways, break rooms and other common areas, the I am FedEx People Gallery is a collection of posters featuring images, stories and quotes from team members who consistently go above and beyond to deliver outstanding service and on the job performance.
How are team members selected for inclusion in the People Gallery? Once a facility is selected to receive a People Gallery installation, managers at the facility will nominate individual members of their team for possible inclusion in the Gallery. Managers will nominate individual team members based on a specific criteria set that reflects the needs and objectives of that facility.
Where will these videos be shown? I am FedEx video vignettes will be able to be seen on the IamFedEx.com web site, the FedEx intranet homepage, on the I am FedEx Facebook page and through FedEx One (formerly FXTV). They can also be shown on Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Can a facility produce its own videos and submit them over the Internet or other channel?
Individual team members can submit videos for possible inclusion on the IamFedEx.com site, Facebook and other FedEx-managed pages. Professionally produced videos that will incur a cost to the company will first need to go through the submission process as outlined above. If your submission is selected for video development, the I am FedEx team will contact you about the specifics and help you get it shot.
